Do You Have Extra Air Miles?
In order to reach deserving communities across the US and abroad, airline travel is a must. As we all know, flights are not cheap. The good news is that most airlines with mileage programs allow the option for donating accumulated mileage to charity.
Some of the airlines with such programs include:
Don’t let those miles expire or spend them on a magazine subscription you don’t need. Donate them to our cause.
Most airlines charge a substantial fee for transferring award miles to another account. However, miles do not have to be transferred at all! Booking an award seat for someone else is just like booking an award seat for yourself. The only difference is that you enter the name of the passenger for whom you’re booking an award - with NO additional fee!
All US airlines allow award flights to be booked for someone else other than yourself. Some airlines require the passenger to show the same credit card used to book the trip when they check-in for an international flight, although this is usually not the case when award miles are used. (Just in case, it may help to provide a letter acknowledging that you used your frequent flyer account miles to book the trip and a copy of the credit card.)
