Ohordua Project

In 2017, in the beautiful village of Ohordua in Edo State, Nigeria, a remarkable A Boy and His Dream (www.aboyandhisdream.org) embarked on a heartwarming and impactful project.

Driven by a passion to make a difference in the lives of the villagers, they undertook several initiatives to address critical needs and bring joy to the community.

 

First, to combat malnutrition and hunger, Sunny Akhigbe and his team donated a staggering 75,000 meals consisting of rice and vegetables.

 

This generous provision helped to alleviate the immediate nutritional challenges faced by the villagers, especially the children, and offered hope for a healthier, more nourished future.

 

Recognizing the importance of play and emotional expression in childhood development, A Boy and His Dream donated two playgrounds and two swings to the village. This thoughtful gesture not only provided the children with safe and enjoyable spaces to play, but also offered them the opportunity to express positive emotions, fostering a sense of joy and well-being within the community.

 

Understanding the value of comfort and companionship, the team also donated 2,000 stuffed animals to support the children. These cuddly companions not only brought smiles to the faces of the young ones but also served as symbols of care and reassurance, offering a sense of comfort and warmth in their lives.

 

In addition to addressing the physical and emotional needs of the community, A Boy and His Dream took a holistic approach by teaching social skills and promoting proper hygiene practices.
